The Mass Timber pavilion, an observation deck, was designed by Spanish architect and Rice University professor Jesús Vassallo, along with a team formed by graduates Pouya Khadem and Lene Sollie. It is located in the biodiverse Rice University campus in Houston, within a restored watershed housing various microhabitats. The 22nd Serpentine Pavilion was designed by French-Lebanese Paris-based architect Lina Ghotmeh.
