The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has announced that SANAA, the Japanese architectural practice led by Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, will receive the 2025 Royal Gold Medal. Green House by Hayhurst & Co is named RIBA House of the Year 2023
5 December 2023.
The winner of the RIBA House of the Year 2023 is Green House, designed by London-based architectural studio Hayhurst & Co. Established in 2004 by Nick Hayhurst and Jonathan Nicholls, the studio created Green House to replace an existing house in a conservation area located on a confined urban plot in an alleyway in Tottenham, London. Historically the backland site of Green House comprised greenhouses, market gardens and orchards.

The RIBA Stirling Prize 2023 for the UK’s best building has been awarded to the John Morden Centre by Mæ, a retirement day centre in Blackheath, London.
RIBA President Muyiwa Oki commented “Loneliness and isolation are critical issues, particularly for older people. The John Morden Centre’s elegance and efficacy sets a high standard for spaces that support healthier, happier and more independent lives.

Contemporary family house by David Kohn Architects wins RIBA House of the Year 2022
The Red House by David Kohn Architects is RIBA’s House of the Year 2022. The house in Dorset takes inspiration from the Arts and Crafts movement and is a playful and colourful addition to the landscape.
