Family-run Danish design company Carl Hansen & Søn, established in 1908, have launched a paper cord variant of the 1958 Børge Mogensen Table Bench. The Table Bench was part of Danish designer Børge Mogensen’s ‘building furniture concept’, which advocated building multifunctional durable furniture.

Erwan & Ronan Bouroullec design multifunctional ‘Truss’ collection of furniture for Emeco
Paris-based designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have designed ‘Truss’, a multifunctional collection of tables, sofas and benches, for American furniture maker Emeco. The manufacturer is known for its reuse of waste materials and robust handcrafted chairs that are built to be passed down through generations, an example of which is the 1006 Navy Chair® made from scrap aluminium in 1944.

PLANK, an Italian furniture maker since 1953, and Munich-based industrial designer, Konstantin Grcic, have launched BENCH and BENCH table. Both products, launched at Salone del Mobile Milan 2022, are made from locally sourced spruce and assembled using an invisible pin connection that requires no tools and allows for different leg positions.
