HAY Shim Coffee Table designed by Jonas Trampedach
Danish designer Jonas Trampedach has created the Shim Coffee Table for HAY. This table features three metal legs with a cut and bent construction. It is available in two sizes: one with a 45cm diameter and 51cm height, and another with a 54cm diameter and 44cm height. The table is manufactured in various colours and finishes, including high gloss and natural options. HAY




Vaarni Maasto Table and Chair in Finnish pine plywood designed by Ronan Bouroullec
Vaarni has expanded Ronan Bouroullec’s Maasto range by releasing the 016 Maasto Dining Table in Finsh pine plywood during Copenhagen’s 3 Days of Design 2024 festival. The 016 Maasto Dining Chair was released earlier in the year. The Maasto range is designed to be suitable for domestic and commercial settings. Family-run Danish design company Carl Hansen & Søn, established in 1908, have launched a paper cord variant of the 1958 Børge Mogensen Table Bench. The Table Bench was part of Danish designer Børge Mogensen’s ‘building furniture concept’, which advocated building multifunctional durable furniture.

Blå Station Moodbord table designed by Modesty Concept
The Moodbord table was designed by Modesty Concept, a design firm based in Gothenburg, for Blå Station, a furniture brand in Åhus, Sweden. The table features a single drawer with its contents visible through the glass top surface. It is double-sided and can be linked to create larger tables. EN collection of tables and chairs designed by Cecille Manz for Maruni
The EN collection of tables and chairs was designed by Danish designer Cecile Manz for the Japanese furniture company Maruni, which was founded in 1928. The original EN chair, with its curved backrest and loop frame legs, was launched with a soft-coloured fabric upholstery seat. An all-wood version with a solid wooden seat was released in 2023. The chairs are manufactured in a natural finish, rusty red, dusty green, clay white, and black. The round EN table is made of maple wood with colours applied to the legs. Maruni






Al13 furniture collection by Massimiliano Locatelli
The Al13 furniture collection was designed by Italian architect Massimiliano Locatelli and named after the symbol for Aluminium and its atomic number. The collection includes a table, stool, chest of drawers, cabinet, and a bed, and is available in natural, polished and anodised aluminium in various colours. Extruded aluminium window frame profiles are used to support differing thicknesses of glass; both materials have the benefit that they can be recycled indefinitely. Lehni Table Flex 2.0 designed by Hanspeter Weidmann
Table Flex 2.0 is a revised version of a table designed in 2011 by Swiss designer Hanspeter Weidmann for Swiss manufacturer Lehni. The lightweight table is made of thin curved aluminium in three parts, the legs and the tabletop, which are screwed together without the need for welding or glues. Paris-based designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have designed ‘Truss’, a multifunctional collection of tables, sofas and benches, for American furniture maker Emeco. The manufacturer is known for its reuse of waste materials and robust handcrafted chairs that are built to be passed down through generations, an example of which is the 1006 Navy Chair® made from scrap aluminium in 1944.

UK furniture maker Benchmark, founded by Terrance Conran and Sean Sutcliffe, has unveiled the AYA collection of furniture. The range includes a Dining Table, a Conference Table, a High Collaboration Table and Stools, all designed by Foster + Partners Industrial Design Team. The AYA collection is made from FSC British-grown ash, which is currently being felled and discarded due to ash die-back. Plank Randevu folding table by Cisotti + Laube
Italian furniture manufacturer Plank presented the Biagio Cisotti + Sandra Laube designed Randevu folding table, at Salon del Mobile in Milan in 2023. An innovative folding mechanism was specially designed for the table, and a hook allows it to be stored on a wall. Foster + Partners launch XYZ flexible office system
Foster + Partners has launched XYZ, a flexible office system, in collaboration with Italian furniture manufacturer UniFor. The modular system comprises a shelving unit X, a lightweight conference table Y and a sit/stand desk Z, of which X and Y are on display at Salon del Mobile in Milan. The X-shaped timber or aluminium posts, with spring loaded ceiling supports, form the primary structure of the shelving unit X. The Y-shaped legs of the Y table can be used to link table tops and the Z desk has a patented mechanism that allows intuitive adjustment by pulling the table up or pushing it down. Photo © Unifor. Quaderna Series by Zanotta is now 50
The ‘radical design’ movement of late 1960s Italy led to the creation of the Quaderna Series of furniture, which was designed by the Superstudio group and has been manufactured by Zanotta since 1972. The iconic collection is characterised by geometric shapes covered with a chequered white laminate. A coffee table, desk and carpet have been added to the series to mark the 50th anniversary.
