In 2024, Louis Poulsen, the Danish lighting manufacturer, celebrates its 150th birthday by re-issuing its most famous designs. Based on the works of Arne Jacobsen and Poul Henningsen, the anniversary collection uses Pale Rose on the inside of the shades instead of white, with matt white on the outside, and brass detailing.

Louis Poulsen AJ lamp series by Arne Jacobsen in pastel shades
Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen, founded in 1874, is releasing a new colour palette of five pastel shades for the classic AJ lamp. The original AJ lamp was designed by Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen in 1957. The new shades reflect the colours in the watercolours painted by Arne Jacobsen and include Warm Sand, Soft Yellow, Dusty Blue, Warm Grey and Electric Orange. Louis Poulsen
PH Artichoke pendant light designed in 1958
Poul Henningsen, the influential Danish designer and architect, working with Louis Poulsen, the Danish lighting manufacturer, designed the PH Artichoke for a modernist Copenhagen restaurant in 1958. The distinctive pendant light with its 72 ‘leaves’, is still in use at the restaurant, the Langelinie Pavilion. Louis Poulsen
